BILLY AUGHTRY
Billy was born in 1960 in Atlanta, Georgia. From a very early age Country Music was a huge part of his life. He begen singing almost was soon as he could talk, however, mustering up the courage to take a stage for a public performance would not come until years later. While serving in the US Army his buddies encouraged him to enter a local talant contest, after hearing him singing at barracks jam sessions. That was in 1983, and as luck would have it, he not only joined that talant contest, but also won it hands down. This led to a job as a "house singer" at Cowgirls nightclub in Hinesville, GA,and later at Gilley's of Georgia.. Billy then put his music on the back burner for a few years to raise and support his family. After re-marrying, his wife Theresa urged Billy to follow his dreams of playing music again. This led Billy to begin singing on the Opry circuit across Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Billy has recieved much recognition for his efforts.
